As previously mentioned, this weekend will mark the grand opening of Nike Sportswear Store Tokyo on the trendy Cat Street of Harajuku district. It will also mark the debut of several new additions to NSW, the pinnacle apparel collection within the Nike Sportswear line. Unlike the debut collection during the opening of 21 Mercer Street in August, the new apparel collection is much less “technical” in appearance. Instead, the athetic oriented silhouettes gave way to those of more classic designs, such as trench and pea coats. However, despite its looks, all the products within the collection still retain much of Nike innovation and technologies, from 3-Layer Storm FIT fabric to the application of rip-stop nylon. As Dermott Cleary, the Vice President of Nike Sportswear stated recently, “The NSW collection is steeped in Nike’s sports heritage and remixed with cutting edge engineering, craftsmanship, and modern design.”
